Hey LJ, where do you back up your files online? We've been using Jungle Disk for years, but lately it's been weirdly unstable.

I use CrashPlan. It's worked pretty well as far as I can tell. I haven't actually tested restoring from it. The UI is super-slick, at least, and it works well on all three major platforms.

We have Crash Plan at work. I haven't tried restoring either, but I have noticed it using a quarter of a cpu sometimes.

I just back things up locally via Time Machine which seems to work pretty well.

CrashPlan has a selector in the settings for what percent of CPU and I/O bandwidth it's allowed to use. Personally I bumped it up to 100 because I never noticed any performance degradation (and it backs up faster this way.) If I want to see something abusing my CPU way more than 25% I just have to load a web browser anyway.

Yeah, I don't really mind, 25% of one of eight cores isn't that big a deal, but it would matter to me if I used it on a different machine.
